A Poem: A Fire For One, Please

You are the fire

That I bask in front of

And the wind

that sends chills down my fickle spine

You are the crackling

And the flying sparks

And the warmth

Along with the cold

I love how You dance

In a rhythm of hues

How You’re in the foreground and the background

How You’re the fire and the wind

How You crackle like fiery wood

And cause the limbs of trees to break and bend

And oh,

How You bring in the cold

So that I might draw near

To the fire that You are

Closer and closer

Until I’m burning too

Burning for You.
