A Poem: Grant me Your Grace

Lord,

Grant me Your grace

To sit in silence

And wait

To wait for

Your faithfulness

And justice

To rear its face.

Give me Your grace

To wait expectantly

For all the good you have for me

Grant me Your grace

To treasure You above all else

Grant me Your grace also

To accept all the good things that can accompany

Being a companion of God,

Namely,

A spouse.

Grant me Your grace

To trust You and love You

Even as You refine me

And prepare me to receive You and Your blessings.

Grant me Your grace

To not despise my youth

Or singleness

Grant me Your grace

That I would not compare my story

With the other children in this family

Oh Jesus,

Grant me Your grace

Each dawning day

That I would simply

Seek Your face

And Your name.

Grant me Your grace

That You would be

More than enough for me

With

Or without

A man to call my spouse.
